Today I have BULLYING on my mind. So for #throwbackthursday I want to use my 2016 painting Bettas On My Mind to talk about this issue. I want to speak up about how awful online bullying is. 😔 Let me first say that I love all of you that comment and send love and positivity on my social media, i love you so much. 🙏 On occasion i have to deal with people who aren’t so nice, people who forget that i’m a human being with real feelings. Their cutting comments hurt. Its one of the reasons i have comments disabled on Youtube. I’ve learned over the years to grow a thicker skin, to delete the mean comments and move on. But yesterday a friend of mine told me about how her daughter was bullied online by her schoolmates and it was awful. Worse than any mean pranks I went through in high school. So let me say this as words of encouragement for anyone out there that is being bullied. If you come across people who want to laugh at your pain, or make you feel awful about yourself, SCREW THEM. 👊 No one is allowed to make you feel bad about yourself. They have no power over you. When you are cornered don’t cower but ROAR! I don’t let negative comments determine who I am and you shouldn’t either. I don’t care about their nasty opinions. For every one of them there are a hundred of you who support me. Focus on love not hate. You are allowed to be who you are and nothing some random people say can take away your strength! 💪 Words have power so I want to use mine to stand up against bullies. I want to promote love and happiness and together we are a community of love. 💖

I relate to this post on a spiritual level. Bullies only have power over you if you let them though. I know it's really easy to just say that, but it's taken several defeats at the hands of other for me to realize that I am the only one I need to be really pleasing to be happy with where I am at. Thanks for sharing though, you're one of my recent favourite artists and I support this kind of stance against bullying. I live by Wheaton's Law. "Don't be a dick." It's really that simple.
